Case Studies

Case Study #1:   SVP Human Resources – Top 100 Global HR Management VPs

The SVP met with Dianne and gave her his meeting agenda to review. The theme of the meeting was "From Ordinary to Extraordinary." After extensive analysis and discussion, over 80 business books were ordered that had the words Ordinary and/or Extraordinary in the title; these were purchased and a mailed to each of the attendees.

The directive was to read the book and extract a sentence from the book that had impact. Each attendee submitted the sentence two weeks prior to the meeting and signs were made for all the breakouts featuring the quote, contributor and book acknowledgement. The signs allowed attendees to share, read, and comment on quotes; speakers incorporated many of the quotes in their presentations. All the quotes were compiled and sent to each executive to share with staff worldwide.

The return on event resulted in a cascading campaign throughout the company sharing the same messages with all employees that propelled enforcing new initiatives in a more seamless and efficient manner.

Case Study #2:   Managing Director / First Time Board of Directors Meeting

A global professional firm had just selected a new Managing Director; he and some key members of his team had reached out to Dianne for ideas on how to structure his first meeting with the company's Board of Directors. Dianne suggested the visual and physical metaphor of a chalkboard, and proposed the theme "WIPING THE SLATE CLEAN" for the all-important meeting.

The Managing Director embraced the suggestion, which developed around the concept of the written word. He delivered his opening "big idea" by referring to the chalkboard and a piece of white chalk; each member of the Board had an identical chalk-and-chalkboard set that served as place cards for seating Children's blocks were used to spell out keywords to support the Managing Director's message during meeting breaks. Messages about logistics and meals using Scrabble tiles and calligraphy on parchment played a similar reinforcement role. The meeting was a success, as the key executives experienced a different type of meeting with the theme of change and vision creatively enforced.
